WELCOME

You'll find us in an old country cottage surrounded by a blossoming rose garden in the heart of Los Angeles. We met in 1987 at Art Center Collage of Design in Pasadena, California. After working several years as successful commercial photographers we redirected our business adventures toward purchasing, remodeling and landscaping many homes which we then sold.

O'Brien and Schridde Designs was founded in 2003. We began designing and hand-making picture frames. All of our beautiful frames are designed to look weathered and worn. Our pieces reflect our appreciation for time gone by. Over the years we have often photographed our two children and rose garden. You see these images in our frames. We continue to explore new ideas that might compliment our line. For instance we have just introduced our artboard frames. They are made from cardboard that is over a half inch thick. The edges have a beautiful antiques gold leaf finish. The printed front has a romantic debossed and gold leaf pattern around the opening.

You may have seen some of our frames in magazines across the country. We have appeared in Country Living, Country Home, as well as, Romantic Country Living.

The many time-worn objects with which we surround ourselves and the beauty of our ever blossoming old English roses greatly influence our work. Our individual artistic inspirations and sense of design come together in a way that suggests the delicate balance between then and now.
